Over the last few months, I’ve been working with Natalie Drenovac from The Modern Women podcast to design and deliver a Diversity, Inclusion, Communication workshop to teams wanting to better understand their biases, assumptions, own communication styles and how this impacts the team dynamic.
In working with clients, we explore their business values and how these intersect with growing awareness, understanding, and insight as aligned or different from each person’s own beliefs.
We then explore each person’s self-defined communication style – how they perceive their own communication style, how they like to receive and process information, and how to express their needs from colleagues. In this exercise, we invite their peers to feedback on their insights. Establishing a group agreement and creating a safe space to share without fear is key and where I draw on my counselling skills.
