Last week I ventured down to Melbourne, a city I’m very fond of having called it home for a year and half a little way back. I have so many wonderful memories as a Melburnian, gained some very special friendships and met people who have enriched my life in ways I am so grateful for.
One of those people is Jocelyn Hunter, founder and fearless leader of tech PR agency BENCH PR. I joined her agency about a year ago to lend my social media experience to her team who has also grown with Jocelyn over the years.
Working with Jocelyn means I’m fortunate to learn from a great business leader who is so encouraging, supportive and solid, who shares her wisdom and learnings, who is open, honest and generous with her time and kindness for her team.
It’s no wonder BENCH PR continually produces excellent quality of work that has earned them a place as runner up boutique agency of the year at this year’s CommsCon Awards. Not surprisingly, Jocelyn is also a People’s Choice nominee in the B&T Women in Media Awards (you can vote for her via the link here!).
Having worked with a number of PR agencies over the last few years in a contract and consultant capacity it’s been interesting to see the different leadership styles and what it means for the team.
What qualities do you value in a team leader?
